Spring Trends to Try Now!

A brighter—and warmer—season is about upon us: Spring!  And with it, we’ll see an underlying feeling of effortlessness, where even bright pops of color seem to be brushed on with a blithe, unhurried hand. These looks are sure to coax us into dusting off our makeup brushes and emerging from our cold-induced beauty rut.

From the spring runways these beauty trends are guaranteed to make you forget winter. From graphic cat-eye alternatives to undone braids perfect for festival season, why wait until spring is “officially” here try these trends?

Loose, undone waves aren’t going anywhere for spring! For those of us whose hair falls on the frizzier, curlier, or flatter end of the spectrum, you can fake them with a perm.  Yes, a perm. Does the word “Perm” spring to mind the very crimped 80s look many sported?  Perms have come a very long way since then and can be fine-tuned to give you exactly the kind of wave you want. You can get perms that just add body to fine, limp hair; you can get loose, sexy waves or you can go for the corkscrew curls that many straight-haired girls covet  — and some curly-all-their-lives girls are sick of.  And if you fall into that latter category, consider a relaxer.

If you’re considering either of those changes you’ll love our March Promotion, “Think Fresh, Spend Less!”with $10 off a Perm or Relaxer, good through March 31,2015. Call today to schedule at either of our two locations!

When it comes to picking a lip color this spring, take your inspiration from a flower garden and opt for varying shades of pink, deep red, and even fuschia.

Bored of your go-to cat-eye?  The spring runways had plenty of alternatives. Trade your standard black for a pop of white or electric blue.

Loose, festival-perfect boho braids will be a spring go-to look. Create a fat, messy braid by first spraying dry shampoo on your strands to add texture, then create a low, loose three-strand braid. Gently knead the braid to loosen it up, allowing front pieces to fall out and frame the face. Then, wrap each of these side sections around the center braid and secure with an elastic. Perfect for just about any occasion!

For nails, negative space will show up with tropical shades like coral, balmy mint, and dreamy turquoise. It’s a modern, minimal take on the French manicure.
