Are seasonal storms wreaking havoc on your hair? Does a glance at your reflection in the glass door you’re approaching as you make a mad dash in the rain from your car into the store bring to mind thoughts of Don King, the legendary boxing promoter? Or worse yet, echoes of the 1980’s? Our late summer duo of heat and humidity can definitely give your hair a mind of its own, and left unchecked, can have you end up resembling a mad scientist.
Luckily, we know a thing or two about hair. Don’t overly fret; there ARE things you can do to help.
At the most basic level, put a little extra time into keeping your locks as healthy as possible. Hair 101: damaged hair is more likely to frizz; even without the seasonal elements. Moisturize a bit more often than you normally do, using a good product that moisturizes without adding weight. And for goodness sakes, IF you blow dry, skip it as often as you can. More good towel- and air-drying combo will do your hair wonders.
Use the other heated tools, i.e. flat irons, curling irons, and the like, less often as well. If you’ve got curly or wavy hair, embrace it – relaxed and casual can be a fabulous thing… when healthy!
Be “one with the bun” – or braid, chignon, side pony tails, etc. Pick up any recent fashion or beauty magazine and you’ll see: you’ll be right on trend with any of those looks! Who knew you were such a trendsetter?!
