The holiday season is in full swing, bringing with it fun and festive holiday parties. Students at our beauty school in Kennesaw know that the number one goal is to achieve a look their clients will love, which could be as involved as a total hair makeover or as simple as a fun holiday hairstyle.
This is the season to experiment with stylish, elegant holiday party hairstyles your client is sure to love. Here are four styles to get you started
Try These Fun Holiday Hair Ideas
Braided Headband
Start by loosely curling your client’s entire head with a large-barrel curling iron. Once their hair is curled, create a low side ponytail. Braid half of the ponytail and wrap it around their crown, creating the illusion of a headband. Be sure to pin it into place! Twist the other half of the ponytail into a bun and finish the look with light hair spray so she can dance the night away.
Wispy Twist
Soft and elegant, this half-up style starts with making a center part and curling all of her hair with a large-barrel curling iron. Heat styling spray will make a glossy shine, and texturing spray on the roots creates lift. Starting from either side of the head, take the hair in 1 ½ inch sections, overlap them at the back of her head, and pin them securely into place. From there, take the rest of the hair, wrap a hair tie right over the end to create a loop on the bottom by pulling hair halfway through. Be sure to leave a few loose, face-framing strands for a final touch.
Fabulous Hairstyles for Holiday Festivities
Classic Chignon
You can’t go wrong with a sleek chignon — it’s the perfect mix of classic meets modern style! Create a precise part with a rattail comb before pulling the hair tightly and securing at the nape of your client’s neck. Spray the ponytail with glossing spray before twisting it to create the perfect bun. Secure with pins and hairspray, and encourage your client to pair this classic hair style with a stylish red lipstick.
Half-Up Baby Bouffant
Can you say volume for days? Start with a volumizing root lifter before blow-drying your client’s hair completely. Set her hair in large Velcro rollers and add heat to create full, bouncy hair without too much curl. Back-comb her roots and brush out her hair with a soft-bristle brush for added volume. Finally, take the two sections of hair nearest to the outside corners of your client’s eyes and pin them back with either crisscrossed bobby pins or a fun clip.
